Issues with badges?

Due to the international nature of European Development Days, we did not post out any badges. When you registered, we sent you a confirmation e-mail. This confirmation was exchanged for a badge at the registration tent located near the entrance of the Copernicus Science Centre.

 

Travel Information

Where was the forum held?

At the Copernicus Science Centre, which is conveniently located and easy to reach both nationally and internationally. More information is available under “practical details”.

What accomodation options were there?

Many hotels are located near to the Copernicus Science Centre. More information is available under “practical details”.

Was car parking available?

A pay car park was available along Wybrzeże Kościuszkowskie Street. More information is available under “practical details”.

Access & Facilities

Was there access to the Internet at the event?

There was free-of-charge wireless Internet access at the venue.

Was it possible to hire a wheelchair at the event?

Unfortunately, the Copernicus Science Centre could not provide wheelchair hire.

What was wheelchair access like at the venue?

There was a ramp at the entrance and elevators were available to access the first floor. All areas had wheelchair access.

Was there be any food provided at the venue?

Yes, hot and cold food was served free-of-charge to Forum participants for lunch and dinner. Special dishes were available for those with special dietary requirements.

Was there a cloakroom at the event?

Yes, at the Copernicus Science Centre the self-service cloakroom for Forum participants was clearly signposted.

Could students attend the Forum?

Unfortunately, due to space limitations, it was not possible to welcome students to this year’s Forum. However, students (and all other interested parties) were able to follow the Forum debates online. All sessions were webstreamed on eudevdays.eu.

What was the 2011 Forum about?

The main theme of this year's European Development Days was 'Development and Democracy'. Twenty years after the transitions in Central and Eastern Europe and one year after the beginning of the so-called Arab Spring, it was a timely moment to gather the development community, take stock, and review analyses on the link-ups between political change and socio-economic progress.

Who visited the 2011 Forum?

Organisations involved in aid delivery, democracy and human rights promotion, including decision-makers, academics, media and private sector representatives, practitioners, NGO advocates, management and procurement officials, operational personnel, and field operatives.

Were there any seminars or workshops?

Yes, there was a comprehensive programme of High Level Panels and special addresses. For more information, please download the programme.

How did registration work?

In 2011, European Development Days was an invitation only event. Each stakeholder organisation received a quota of invitations. Registration was free of charge. See the Registration How to? secion

How did visa support for speakers work?

If you required assistance in securing a VISA for one of your speakers, the European Commission provided support by signing a formal invitation letter.
